Religion/Culture of the Han

Confucianism is a big part of The Han Dynasty religion this is because they used it as a guide. Confucianism was founded as the state orthodoxy, as well as Buddhism, which was introduced into China by monks who were traveling from India not like Taoism which merged with popular superstitions into china. Taoists and Buddhist monasteries grew in the violent centuries after the collapse of Han dynasty, this was good because it helped bring peace to the Han Dynasty. Confucians were first brought in by the Han court to clear up unresolved matters concerning rites and ceremonies. The birth of boys was a special occasion since a boy could carry on the family name. Girls were important but only because they could help improve family’s lot by making a good marriage. From the cultures to the religious ceremonies to government matters to Taoists and Buddhist is what helped the Han dynasty both grow and impact it strongly.
